The choir were invited to sing at the Royal Lancashire Show for a second year, which we were very thrilled about.
The weather was dry and warm. Our coach collected us at Spring Vale, stopping at Wilpshire to pick up a few more members who lived closer to the area. All the equipment was on board the coach and we arrived at around 12 noon. We were due to sing at 1.30 so were able to look around the showground until then.
We sang a number of 60's songs and other favourites and were watched by an enthusiastic audience, many of whom stayed throughout the whole performance. We used equipment which we had bought from our AVIVA grant and this gave great sound effects. Mike was conducting the choir as unfortunately Therese was unable to be there.
After our performance we had free time to walk around the showground sampling foods, watching celebrity chefs, visiting craft marquees, seeing the wonderful prize winning sheep and cattle or just relaxing with a drink. There was something to suit all tastes.
All too soon it was time to leave, but we all had a wonderful day.
