Choir AGM

Last night we held our third Annual General Meeting in Spring Vale Methodist Church. I really can't believe it is three years since the choir started. Many of the people there yesterday were founder members having been to the first choir rehearsal and are still attending on a regular basis. This says such a lot for the friendship and loyalty we have within the choir.

Our total numbers are now around 70, but it is thanks to Mike Cotter whose idea it was to form the choir and his friends from the Walk This Way health initiative who attended that first week.

Mike has decided to stand down as choir manager after 3 years and everyone thanked him for all his hard work on our behalf. A gift from the choir was given to him. We were pleased to hear that he will continue to attend as a choir member.

Speeches were made by the Choir secretary, Glenys, Chairman Alan and Mike the choir manager. Everyone recalled with fondness, Therese Kearton who was our MD from the early days of the choir and who sadly passed away in September last year, but the speeches also looked forward with enthusiasm to our future with Emily Kennedy our new MD making her mark and leading us forward.

It was a friendly and forward looking meeting which everyone present enjoyed.
