Our Third Christmas Concert

Last night, we held our third Christmas Celebration Concert at DACA in Darwen, accompanied by our friends Darwen Brass.

Firstly thank you to the audience for coming out on such a cold, wet night, and we hope the concert made up for the bad weather.

The choir sang a variety of Christmas songs and were accompanied by a quartet from Darwen Brass and the audience joined in for the Carols. Following the choir, Darwen Brass played some wonderful Christmas music. During our second appearance, Mike Cotter paid a moving tribute to Therese Kearton, our Musical Director, who sadly passed away in September of this year following a serious illness. Therese's son, daughter and brother had been invited to the concert and we were very pleased that they could join us to see how much she did for us and how much we miss her. The choir then sang other Christmas songs and Carols with some rousing music to finish off the evening.

It was a moving but lovely evening. Well done to everyone involved with the organising, especially Mike who conducted both the choir and the band. You definitely had your hands full Mike..
