A Wonderful End to a Wonderful Year

Yesterday we held our first celebration Christmas Meal at the Whitehall Hotel in Darwen. What a wonderful afternoon it was!! We were there to celebrate our achievements throughout the year, which, when they were listed, were a lot, DACA with the Houghton Weavers, The Royal Lancashire Show, Macmillan Coffee Morning, opening the Spring Vale Christmas Fair, Carols in the Wood, and two Christmas Concerts

Around 80 people attended, choir members, their guests and a number of walkers. We had an excellent three course Festive Christmas Lunch which was greatly enjoyed by everyone. Thank you Whitehall Hotel for providing such good service and decorating the restaurant so nicely.

It was an eventful afternoon, with speeches, a raffle, an auction, a quiz, provided by Nick Burton, carol singing accompanied by Blackburn and Darwen Band, a song from our very own Therese Kearton (that was a surprise!! - thank you so much Therese) and also Anna and Craig Mann entertained us with Christmas Songs.

The whole event was a joy from beginning to end, with a friendly Christmassy atmosphere.

Last but not least, a big thank you to Mike Cotter for organising the event.
