Our Very First Annual General Meeting

Last night we held our very first Annual General Meeting in The Old Function Rooms in Darwen. The meeting was opened by our Chairman Mr Alan Rogerson.

Everyone was in total agreement within the reports from our Chairman Alan Rogerson, Secretary Lilian Nicholson Treasurer Eileen Walsh, Musical Director Therese Kearton and Choir Manager Mike Cotter, that our first year of building the Choir has been nothing short of "an unbelievable journey".

From our commencement in May 2016, we now have over 50 very valued, dedicated and enthusiastic members, our superb Musical Director Therese, a Committee of people with such energy, drive and inspiration, our wonderful supporters and helpers, a great rehearsal facility at Spring Vale Methodist Church, new Sound and Light equipment to enhance our performances, music kindly donated by The Townswomen's Guild Choir from Darwen, a Yamaha Clavinova Piano also kindly donated, and much more. We have also made many friends along the way, and had help and support from many people...thank you all.

So to say the least "we have come a long way" would be a massive understatement....Thank you each and everyone !!!

The word "Enjoyment" seemed to be one of the most prominent words used all night, and everyone here again in total agreement that enjoyment is our prime reason for being in The Walk This Way Choir.

We already have in place some very prestigious engagements for this year, including our production with the very famous Blackburn and Darwen Band, A Festival of Remembrance at The Croston Theatre, Westholme Senior School on Saturday 11th November with many special guests, and also our Christmas Celebration Concert in December (please watch this space for further details).

As we speak, plans are being made for some very special events in 2018....please watch this space !

At the conclusion of our meeting we were served with a lovely buffet made by Maxine at The Old Function Rooms...thank you Maxine....(and yes we will be coming at Christmas to sing Carols as you requested !)

After finishing and devouring the buffet we concluded the evening with a short rehearsal which proved to be the perfect end to a very memorable milestone for The Walk This Way Choir

Certainly an evening to be remembered.
